This day, 15 August 2017 will be a remarkable day at Mncwasa location, as Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA), honourable Des van Rooyen together with Executive Mayor Cllr Samkelo Janda visited the area to assess the progress of an R10-million Mpame bridge project today.

The members of the community say they were compelled to use dangerous crude means to cross the local river to access different community services such as schools, hospitals, clinics, churches and other public amenities.

Following the intervention of CoGTA, the dreaded rainy season inconveniences will soon become a thing of the past as the new bridge is set to bring relief to villagers of Kwa Chezi; Manzibomvu; Mdikana; Mpame; Mncwasa; Ngileni; Mkhathazo and Manzamnyama who will now enjoy safe crossing to interact with one another and access important government services.

“We appreciate this initiative, as it will enable our people to access other community services, we are a municipality faced with serious service delivery infrastructure backlog which is far beyond the allocated budget, we are in dire need of this kind of support”. Said Executive Mayor Cllr Samkelo Janda.
